From Smitty Pedals:
The original pedal is so rare that I have not been able to find a picture of the actual pedal. I have been able to find much discussion about it on the Internet but there are rumors that it never even really existed. Who knows?
There are quite a few schematics for the VSTB posted on the internet so I decided to build one.
It is a four transistor silicon fuzz similar to the Big Muff with a different form of distortion clipping using BC546 transistors and Germanium Diodes. Great for Doom or Stoner Rock.
I built the pedal from scratch including drilling the holes, painting the enclosure, researching and constructing the circuit board, and all final assembly and testing.
Features:
- Hand-wired, point-to-point circuit board
- Silver Hammered finish
- True Bypass
The left knob is gain, center knob is tone and right knob is volume.
Note: This is a picture of a Colorsound Suppa Tone Bender from Effects Database. I don’t have a photo of the actual Smitty Pedal. Also, I’m not really certain what Smitty is describing as far as the rarity of this pedal. I must be missing something?
