MK-II Tone Bender (Custom Rehousing)

Effect Information

“This is an original Gary Hurst (maker of the first and
original Sola Sound Tone Bender back in the 60s) signature series
re-issue MK-I pedal circuit (which is really an MK-II Tone Bender
circuit) that was re-housed by “Jerms” — a great pedal builder on the
DAM forum in one of his Tone Bender enclosures.”

“It has a boat load of gain AND tone, as well as a
great sweep on the attack knob that varies the amount of gain very
gradually which equates to MANY sweet spots. Additionally, from about 1 pm to full CW there
is much room to play with the compression characteristics.”

“At lower fuzz settings (still with plenty of gain) the clean up is very
impressive, and does not get “gated” and “spitty” — which equates to a much
richer sounding and more useable sounding fuzz. The secret weapon in
this little beast is the lower gain “fuzz-drive” tones — it’s
like getting several pedals in one.”

The sale of this effect included two extra transistors for additional sound tweaking.
