ME-7 Multi-Effect Wah

Effect Information

“The Japanese made Shin-ei ME-7 multi-effects pedal with control knobs on the side.”

Features three modes:

  • Wah mode, in which the pedal mechanism works as a wah. The response is opposite to what’s considered normal in that it screams when pushed forward.
  • Volume pedal mode in which the pedal acts as a standard volume pedal.
  • Noise mode in which a noise signal is fed to the output. This noise can be filter through the wah or the volume independently.

“The selected effect is switched in/out by a switch located under the pedal. On top of the pedal, in front of the pedal mechanism, is the “siren switch.” When the treadle is pressed a siren starts to work with a rising frequency. When depressed the frequency falls again.”

“It has been said the sound is WAY better than the Cry Baby. This wah pedal works backwards, heel down accentuates the higher frequencies and foot down the bass freq, pretty amazing! The Siren, Tornado, Surf and Volume features are the best I have ever encountered on these pedals in many years. The siren noise effect was used on the hit “Blockbuster” by the band Sweet. Shin-Ei re-branded this pedal as National, Univox, Champion, Jax, Companion, Turtle and the list goes on.”
