“On this compressor a volume control lets you
keep your level the same when you turn it on, or boost it up for solos. The compression control goes from
transparent, light compression, to a very cool and noticeable squash when
dialed up high.”
“And then there’s
the tone control which is where a lot of compressors miss out. I think this is essential, as the
darkening of a lot of other compressors can be a
problem. You don’t have to
worry about any high end loss — no more muddying of your tone when
you use compression.”
“Inside is a small switch
that disengages the tone control as well if you want a more vintage compressor
feel and tone.”
