Three controls:
- Volume: Is always active and provides a volume boost type of control. Really cranks (EXPANDS) the volume when you turn it up;
- Contour: Seems to mix the clean and buzz sounds for more or less distortion;
- Buzz: Adjusts the intensity of the distortion from slight to all fuzz;
- Foot Switch: Turns on and off the Buzz (Fuzz) Tone;
- Battery Condition: This meter lets you know if your battery needs changing.
“There are adjustments here for Volume, Contour and Buzz. The Buzz control allows you to move between smooth and jagged fuzz tones. Most players and collectors reference the UMIs by the cool battery condition VU indicator. The foot switch controls the Contour and Buzz functions. The Volume control works as long as the pedal is in the chain. It is driven by by two RCA germanium transistors. When the pedal is off it functions like a treble booster.”
