“This is an interesting pedal made in Japan [most likely by Coron and rebranded] for KMD (Kaman, best known
for Ovation products). It is basically a clean boost/preamp with inputs
for guitar and microphone (mic must have a 1/4” plug), but also has
the “Excite” knob. That knob, at 12 o’clock seems to be flat (or dark) and either going to the right or left brightens the sound (and also adds
some noise). There is both a Level control and also a Direct and both
raise the volume. That’s my best stab at a description.”
